When Marissa emailed me about photographing her wedding, I knew right away that I wanted to work with her and Joe. They've known each other since they were kids! Marissa says "We went to my sophomore homecoming together where I thought we were just friends and Joe already knew he loved me." Since they both love the outdoors, they planned an outdoor ceremony at Black Rocks in Marquette with their family and friends. I unfortunately missed out on the chance to photograph their engagement session due to stormy December weather, but their wedding totally made up for it. I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
Check out the cool van they used to transport their bridal party!
The ladies got ready at the Watermarq Condos right across from the Ore Dock. The space there is AMAZING. I know the other photographers who have shot there will agree with me. :)
The ladies took a quick break from getting ready and we went up on the roof where they did a mimosa toast.
Marissa dyed the bottom of her dress purple and I LOVE IT.
Next I crossed the street and did photos with Joe and the groomsmen.
Then we headed over to Black Rocks for the first look.
My friend Emma Tiura second shot this wedding with me. This next frame is hers.
I love the imperfect ones! This shot is also Emma's and it captures the feel of those in-between moments.
I don't think I've ever loved a set of portraits as much as I do Marissa's bridal shots. :)
Black Rocks has so many different opportunities for gorgeous photos! And there is allllllwayyyyys at least one other wedding party there. I've seen as many as six in one day! Everyone else loves it too. :)
Time for the ceremony!
We went over to the Black Rocks Brewery for just a few minutes. The dog sitter brought the dogs over so Marissa and Joe could have some photos taken with them.
Just a few short hours but so many images! I wanted to post all of them. I wish you a long and happy marriage Joe and Marissa. :)
