Our Wedding Day 02.12.2022: Hancock, MI

It’s been well over a year now since Jess and I were married! I recently made our wedding album and I love our photos just as much every time I look at them. We hired Sabrina Langdon of Sabrina Leigh Studios to be our wedding photographer, and she and her assistant provided us with the most beautiful photos!

I swore up and down I would never get married in the winter in my hometown, but lo and behold, that’s what I did. :) On the morning of our wedding, I invited friends over to my parents house for brunch. Several had traveled from out of state and I wanted to make sure I had a chance to see them. It was such a fun and relaxing morning. One of my best friends was my hairstylist for the day, and my bridesmaids Molly and RyAnn helped me with everything else! I ordered pink themed gift boxes from my friend Kaylee in Washington state as thank you gifts for being with me on my special day. (Western Fancies is her business name!)

I got ready at my parents house and Jess and his best man got ready next door at my grandparents house. We had our first look in my parents backyard, and then he and I went with Sabrina to Calumet for our portraits. I wanted to have some of the architecture there as a backdrop. It was cold outside but not a snowflake in sight, which we were thankful for! Jess and I had to laugh because the snow was so bright and he couldn’t help from squinting.

Once our photos were complete, we went to church for wedding party and family portraits and then it was time to be married! Ceremonies at our church are very short and simple and we requested not to have photos taken during that time. Our reception flowers were prepared by my talented Aunt Melanie and our delicious cheesecakes were made by a family friend. As you can see, sparkly pink was the theme of the day and it STILL makes me so happy, even as I write this a good 15 months later. It really highlights the importance for me of having my special moments documented. I can look back and remember how I felt in that moment, and I treasure that so much. Photos truly are an investment, and it’s SO worth it!
